Spring planting

It’s the most glorious April ever and feels more like summer than spring.  As a result our raised beds (and the weeds) are taking off.  Among the early successes are peas, kai lan, purple brocolli, chard, purple cauliflower, courgettes and salsify.

Meanwhile, the sorrel, romanesco, cavalo nero, and red kale seem to be doing nothing at all.  So the plan below is not forever, but a reminder of what we’ve planted so far.  (The failure of some of these crops may have a lot to do with the procession of cats and squirrels that like to dig up our beds.)
